CHINA: Textile Makers Eye Further Growth
Textile manufacturers in East China's Shandong Province are aiming for an eight per cent jump in sales this year after enjoying record results in 2001, including $5 billion in clothing exports. Garment firms in the province saw their profits climb 10 per cent to around $1bn last year, with sales revenues up 10.5 per cent to around $11bn, but are now looking to build on that success with a new business strategy.
