The Computer Integrated Textile Design Association (CITDA) announces its first seminars ever to be held in Los Angeles area, during the Knit West and Sew show at the Los Angeles Convention Center, May 22-24, 2000. Knit West and Sew is cosponsored by the National Knitwear & Sportswear Association (NKSA), the Apparel Contractors Alliance of California (ACAC), and the American Sportswear and Knitting Times Magazine (AS&KT).CITDA has partnered with NKSA in the past to offer seminars and conference programs at the CADExpo plus show in New York City. This is the first year CITDA will offer two comprehensive seminars on CAD/CAM in the Los Angeles area.According to CITDA Chairperson Craig Crawford, “This is a tremendous opportunity for CITDA to share the benefits of using CAD for design and production, and to broaden our support of the industry on the West Coast. We are pleased to be able to partner with NKSA in furthering this effort.”The first seminar, entitled CAD/CAM: Broader Possibilities, will be held Tuesday, May 23, from 10am-11am. A panel of industry experts will discuss the impact an investment in technology can have on enterprise-wide solutions and cost savings. Panelists include: Eric B. Smith, President of Technology Facilitation Group; Kristin Gloviak, CAD Implementation Specialist of PAD Systems and Senior VP of mysize.com; and Glenn Rinderman, North American Sales Manager of Sophis, USA.The second seminar, entitled What’s New in Digital Printing, will be held Wednesday, May 24, from 10am-11am. Presenter Elizabeth Bowes will share the latest advances in direct to fabric digital printing, and will discuss how to choose the best technology for a rapid return on investment.All seminars and workshops will be held in the rear of the exhibit hall, West Hall B, at the Los Angeles Convention Center during the Knit West & Sew trade show.
