Non-profit sustainability organisation Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute (C2CPII) has named Peter Templeton as its new president and CEO.
Templeton has served as the Institute’s interim president and CEO since September 2018.

“Peter brings valuable perspective and expertise to the Institute via his previous roles as senior vice president of the US Green Building Council and as the first president of Green Business Certification Inc,” the group says. “This wealth of expertise in increasing the reach and impact of market transformation activities around the world will stand the Institute in good stead as we look to accelerate the global adoption of sustainable production and consumption practices through delivery of the Cradle to Cradle Certified Product Standard.”
Administered by the C2CPII, the Cradle to Cradle Certified Products Program is an independent, third-party verified certification scheme for products and materials that are developed to respect human and environmental health, designed for future use cycles, and that utilise clean energy and water throughout the supply chain. Cradle to Cradle product certification is awarded at five levels (Basic, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum), with each higher level imposing a more rigorous set of requirements.
