After 12 years at apparel size and fit specialist Alvanon – including seven as president – apparel industry veteran Ed Gribbin is to transition to a new role of senior advisor to the leadership team.

Gribbin will remain president of the firm until 31 March when he will, officially, launch Gribbin Strategic, his new boutique consultancy firm. He will remain part of Alvanon in his new role as senior advisor.

“Alvanon has undergone an incredible transformation since 2006 and Ed has been instrumental to the company’s success in that period,” says Alvanon CEO Janice Wang. “We’re excited to have him stay on as senior advisor and wish him continued success in his next venture.”

“I feel like I have another chapter to write,” Gribbin says, “so I am starting Gribbin Strategic to address the needs of any company struggling to grow, compete, or even survive in this rapidly changing world.”

He will continue to serve on numerous industry boards on behalf of Alvanon, including the American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA); the International Apparel Federation (IAF); SPESA (Sewn Products Equipment Suppliers of the Americas); AAPN (Americas Apparel Producers Network); the University of Delaware’s Fashion Studies Advisory Council; and The Robin Report.
