FRANCE: Axe Falls On Scores Of Textile Jobs
More than 180 workers face losing their jobs after French textile printing factory of Sainte-Marie-aus-Mines and its main client, textile firm La Cotonniere d'Alsace, went into liquidation on Monday. The two firms, based in Colmar, north-eastern France, employed a total of 184 people and will now go into liquidation after a court rejected a last-ditch offer from the Alain Thirion textile group to buy the companies and save 113 jobs.
