German fashion brand Hugo Boss has tapped former Otto Group executive Andreas Streubig as its new sustainability chief.

Streubig, who previously served as sustainability division manager at the German mail order and e-commerce giant, was named as director of global sustainability at Hugo Boss earlier this month, reporting directly to CEO Mark Langer.

“Andreas Streubig can call on many years of experience in retailing, the fashion industry and above all the field of sustainability,” said Langer. “We are delighted to have secured his expertise for our company. He will be developing this strategically important issue for Hugo Boss and advancing our existing initiatives in this area.”

Earlier this year, while still in his role at Otto Group, Streubig spoke to just-style, explaining how with pressure mounting on apparel brands and retailers to give more weight to sustainability and social responsibility in their sourcing decisions, collaboration and the “power of the many” is key to driving lasting change.
