INDIA: Axed Textile Workers Set For Cash Boost

The Indian government on Monday was reported to be considering raising by 40 per cent the wage ceiling limit for the rehabilitation of workers in textile mills that face closure. The proposals, which would benefit more than 40,000 employees of private mills, would increase the monthly wage ceiling limit to Rs 3,500 through the Textile Workers Rehabilitation Fund Scheme (TWRFS).
