INDIA: Indo Rama Invests $100m In Polyester Plant
Leading Indian textile firm Indo Rama Synthetics India Limited on Wednesday announced it had agreed a deal with German's Zimmer AG to build a $100 million polyester plant in the heart of the country. The new plant in Madhya Pradesh state will have an annual production capacity of 175,000 tonnes and be the largest in India. Indo Rama said it expects the factory to be operational by mid-2004, with polyester staple fibre accounting for the vast majority of that output.
