INDIA: Surprise Jump In Exports Of Ready-Made Garments
Indian textile chiefs today revealed a surprise 12 per cent jump in the number of exports of ready-made garments despite the negative impact on the world economy of the devastating terrorist attacks on the US. The findings by the Apparel Export Promotion Council (APEC) surprised many observers as the industry is heavily dependent on the US which accounts for more than a third of the country's textile exports.
