INDIA: Textile And Garment Exports Down

The Indian government said today that the country's textile exports lost more than 14 per cent in value terms between April and September 2001. This means India exported $5.29 billion worth of textiles in the first half of the fiscal year beginning April 1, 2001, compared with $6.16 billion in the same period a year earlier.
