INDONESIA: Synthetic Fibre Firms To Slash Production
Indonesia's synthetic fibre industry is set to slash production levels to below 60 per cent next year following a massive slump in both domestic and overseas demand. The drastic decline in demand has forced firms to improve their efficiency and lower production levels in order to survive the world economic slowdown, said Asima N Sitorus, secretary general of the Indonesian Synthetic Fibre Producers' Association (Apsyfi).
