ITALY: Giorgio Armani Named UN Goodwill Ambassador
Delighted fashion designer Giorgio Armani was on Tuesday chosen as a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations refugee agency (UNHCR) in a move that will see him travel to refugee camps around the world. UN High Commissioner Ruud Lubbers said Armani's appointment follows years of personal dedication to helping refugees. "He will be a great partner to UNHCR in mobilising support for some of the world's most unfortunate and needy people," he added.
