JAPAN: Clothing Sales Plunge In February
Japanese clothing retail sales plunged 8.1 per cent last month from the year-ago period, official data revealed on Thursday. Figures from the Economy, Trade and Industry Ministry showed overall retail sales slipped 0.2 per cent to $82.3 billion from the year prior. The latest fall marks the 23rd consecutive month of sliding sales amid high unemployment levels and sluggish consumer spending in one of the world's key economies.
