JAPAN: Garment Dyer Gisen To Axe Jobs, Factory
Up to 155 jobs are set to be lost at synthetic textile clothing dyer Gisen Co in September and it will also close its plant in Gifu next March, the company has announced. Gisen said the job cuts will save around $7.5 million a year and are a result of a large fall in demand for its services as more and more domestic textile firms move overseas.
