Japanese fashion group Fast Retailing will open its first domestic Uniqlo flagship store in Osaka on 1 October.
The company’s 2,640 square metre Shinsaibashi store, its fifth global flagship store, will join Uniqlo’s other global flagship stores in New York, London, Paris and Shanghai.
Fast Retailing said it selected Osaka because of “the key role that the city has played in the company’s development”. Uniqlo opened its first large-format store in the Shinsaibashi-suji shopping district in central Osaka six years ago.
The company opened its first global flagship in New York City in 2006, followed by London in 2008, Paris in 2009 and Shanghai in 2010.
