Spain-based denim finishing technology specialist Jeanologia is to present a production model at textile and garment technology fair ITMA 2019 that is based on digitalisation and sustainability that reduces lead times and simplifies the production process.
The company said the innovation allows for 100% ecological production “speeding up time to market through the perfect integration of hardware and software”.
The “complete production centre” will be exhibited at ITMA, the process starting with G2Dynamic, which allows for fabric finishing that doesn’t use water and chemicals; Laundry 5.Zero, a finishing plant that combines the technologies laser, G2 ozone, e-flow, Smart Boxes to guarantee zero pollution and an 85% water saving. It then moves on to H2Zero the company’s first water recycling system; eliminating potassium permanganate, pumice stone, substances of concern and discharge from the textile finishing industry, as well as the manual processes of scraping and grinding.
The production method claims to drastically reduce lead time from months to weeks or even days. It also allows for the reduction of water and chemical use, helping companies to reduce their environmental footprint, impact on worker health and cut costs.
Enrique Silla, CEO at Jeanologia, comments that demands from the sector for greater sustainability has been the driving force for developing the necessary technology.
“We were facing a production model that was obsolete, with intensive use of manual labour and natural resources. This brought us to completely rethink the way jeans are produced. Today we can assure that we are technologically prepared to introduce a production model which is completely technological, efficient, ethical and sustainable; without compromising product authenticity. With Jeanologia as the expert technological partner the industry has all the tools it needs to face the future of jean manufacturing.”
