Testing and inspection firm Intertek has opened its first consumer goods testing laboratory for textiles, apparel and soft home furnishings in Seoul, Korea.

The laboratory has been set up in response to growing demand from customers in the region, the company says, including textile manufacturers, suppliers and exporters who are looking for quality and safety testing to enable them to meet increasingly stringent international standards and regulations.

Its Seongsu-dong location is in close proximity to manufacturing sites and customers’ buying offices.

Services include fibre identification, feather and down testing, flammability, care label instruction, performance testing and eco-textile certification. Intertek’s Korea laboratory also offers consultation and training services.
