Retailer Long Tall Sally, which specialises in apparel for tall women, has acquired Pretty Tall, the Netherlands’ leading tall fashion brand for women.

The transaction, the details of which were not disclosed, comes five months after Long Tall Sally launched its Dutch website and local operation.

“Joining forces with Pretty Tall is a natural development of our strategy to be the first choice in fashion for tall women worldwide,” says Long Tall Sally CEO Andrew Shapin. “Our collection of the world’s largest range of clothing and footwear designed specifically for tall women has already been very well received in the Netherlands and will now be complemented by Pretty Tall’s well curated offering.”

Headquartered in London, Long Tall Sally offers clothing for women who are 5’8″ and taller, with a focus on having every item fit “properly and proportionally” on a tall figure. The company currently operates 28 stores in the US, Canada, UK, Germany and the Netherlands.

Pretty Tall meanwhile, was founded as a webshop in 2010. Six months later, the first store was opened in Apeldoorn, with a Tough&Tall, a tall men’s concept, and BigSoleMate, catering for larger shoe sizes, added to the portfolio in 2013.

Last year, Long Tall Sally unveiled what it claimed to be the first mannequin based on the exact proportions of an actual customer, created using 3D scanning and printing technology.
