Lululemon Athletica has made its third senior executive appointment this year with the promotion of Sun Choe to the role of chief product officer as the Canadian yogawear retailer thrives under its new chief executive.
Choe joined Lululemon in 2016 as senior vice president of global merchandising and subsequently assumed expanded responsibilities for all product functions on an interim basis.
Prior to joining Lululemon, Choe served as chief global product merchant at Marc Jacobs and also served in senior merchandising roles at brands including Urban Outfitters, West Elm, and Madewell.
“Sun has a proven track record leading world class product teams and her leadership has helped fuel our current success,” said Calvin McDonald, CEO of Lululemon. “I’m confident this is just the beginning of what Sun and her team will create for our guests.”
The company recently hailed a “great” set of results for the second quarter, the first under new CEO McDonald, with a near doubling of net income.
The former Sears Canada boss was named CEO in July following the departure of Laurent Potdevin in February.
