The organisers of the Copenhagen Fashion Summit have cancelled the physical event amid the challenges and uncertainty imposed by Covid-19, and will instead host a new digital concept.
“We do not believe the current times and sentiment warrant a physical gathering, and as a result the Summit as we know it is cancelled for 2020,” organiser Global Fashion Agenda says on its website.
It describes the new concept, CFS+, as a “highly engaging and entertaining content platform” that will go live on 12-13 October.
According to Global Fashion Agenda, CFS+ will bring together global industry leaders to discuss the challenges facing the sector and the crucial role sustainability has to play in rebuilding a more resilient future.
The organisation, which wants to change the way fashion is produced, marketed and consumed, notes in a post on its website that the new format aims to “deliver an entirely new approach to storytelling.” The plan is to also offer live sessions, workshops, roundtables, and matchmaking.
The Copenhagen Fashion Summit is the latest industry event to fall victim to the Covid-19 pandemic, which has seen many of this year’s scheduled trade fairs and expos moved from a physical format to a digital one, including the likes of Kingpins and Apparel Textile Sourcing (ATS) Trade Shows.
