PORTUGAL: Shoe Exports Slide In Early 2002
Exports of Portuguese-made shoes in the first two months of 2002 slipped 6.6 per cent to $258.2m - their lowest level for four years - a report revealed on Friday. University researchers said that during the first few months of the year the cost of footwear materials climbed 12 per cent and there had been a downward trend in shoe prices.
