Dutch company Arch & Hook (A&H), which claims to be the world’s first global sustainable hanger brand, has today (25 June) released its first 100% recyclable plastic hanger made from up to 100% recycled materials.

Created for use in high-fashion, hospitality, and large scale retail, Mission-E is helping to lead the move away from single-use plastic to 100% recyclable plastic.

According to A&H, Mission-E hangers, which are produced around Europe and Asia to reduce the company’s carbon footprint, last five to tens times longer than single-use plastic hangers, whose recyclability is less than 20%. The hangers are also completely customisable, with brands able to choose the body shape, surface look and feel, hooks, clips, and colour finish that best suits their identity.

“Hangers are a product that nobody wants to think about. But this needs to change,” explains company founder and CEO Sjoerd Fauser. “In the US alone, about 30bn imported plastic hangers end up in landfills every year. Mission-E is combating this major issue that permeates the fashion and retail industries and is destroying our planet.”

Two globally recognised high street retailers and boutique luxury hotel chain CitizenM have already signed up to incorporate Mission-E hangers in their business, A& says.
