Verification, testing and certification company SGS has expanded its product recalls online platform with Australia and Canada now contributing official data alongside the European Union and the US.

The ‘Product Recalls’ platform gives retailers and manufacturers of consumer goods – including clothing and footwear products – free and instant access to product recall data from a growing number of the world’s official surveillance authorities.

From today (27 March), the platform will feature full data from Australia, via the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), and Canada, via Health Canada (HC). This in in addition to data already provided by the European Union via RAPEX and RASFF, and the United States via CPSC and FDA.

Users can search data by notifying country, product category, risk type, country of origin, or by source, such as surveillance authority. Product categories include clothing and footwear, sport and leisure goods, textiles, cosmetics and personal care, construction goods, chemical products, electricals, food contact materials, home furnishings, tools, and toys.
