SOUTH AFRICA: Mohair Prices Rise On Low Supplies
Bosses of Mohair South Africa said prices surged at the first sale of the 2002 summer season due to low supplies and the weakness of the rand against the dollar. "The lively competition amongst buyers could serve as confirmation that pipeline stock is low and that there seems to be a systematic improvement in demand for mohair," said Mohair SA general manager Frans Loots in a statement.
