SOUTH KOREA: Judge Reverses Carrefour’s Huge Fine
The massive W113 million fine imposed on French retail giant Carrefour by the Korea Fair Trade Commission (KFTC) for allegedly forcing suppliers to discount supplied goods and bear advertising costs was reversed by the Seoul District High Court on Wednesday. In a case filed by Carrefour against the KFTC following imposition of the fine, the judge said there was no solid evidence to support KFTC's claim, and ruled in favour of Carrefour.
