SPAIN: Galician Textile Sector Enjoys Turnover Growth
The Galician textile industry in north west Spain enjoyed turnover growth of 16.6 per cent to $3.7 billion in 2001 compared to the previous 12 months, it was revealed on Friday. Figures from the Spanish Galician Textile Association (Atexga) showed that total was boosted by exports with leading fashion retailer Inditex, the region's largest textile maker and owner of the Zara fashion chain, exporting $1.6bn worth of goods alone.
