TAIWAN: Shoe Maker Feng Tay Reveals Revenue Jump

Shoe maker Feng Tay Enterprise said yesterday that it made more than 28 million pairs of sports shoes for Nike last year and that its annual revenue increased 6.3 per cent to NT$8.47 billion from the previous year. Rival Pou Chen Corp, another leading sports shoe maker in Taiwan, raked in revenue of NT$10.41bn in 2001, down 6.6 per cent from 2000 and estimated that its total sales of sport shoes in 2001 topped 100 million pairs.
