TechStyle Fashion Group picks PLM to improve design operations

By Giacomo Lee 18 Feb 2021

Direct-to-consumer fashion retailer TechStyle Fashion Group has invested in a new Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solution to accelerate its digital transformation.

Founded in 2010, TechStyle Fashion Group integrates data science, personalisation and membership commerce, reimagining the entire business cycle of fashion retail. Its impressive slate of brands—JustFab, FabKids, Shoedazzle, Fabletics, and Savage X Fenty—all have a monthly membership model of curated products, tailored to individuals. It currently has 5.5m members worldwide.

As a data-driven company with an intense focus on creating efficiencies through innovation, TechStyle sought ways to improve its design operations. The process led to a PLM search, which resulted in the selection of Centric as a preferred partner.

Jamieson Yee, SVP of global product, QA, and UX teams at TechStyle says: “We release new product every week to our customers so we need systems and platforms to enable us to accelerate our business.”

To ensure that it selected the right partner, TechStyle brought PLM expertise in-house. “We strategically hired someone to come in and really drive the whole product creation process from start to finish. This person had a tonne of experience working in multiple PLM platforms and out of all the platforms out there, Centric was her preferred choice. We did an analysis among different systems and our path to Centric was clear.”

While having most of the functionality right out-of-the-box was key, Yee stresses the company needed a system that can accelerate innovation alongside TechStyle while facilitating new ways of thinking.

“I feel like the Centric platform will allow us to do that right now, but also future-proof us moving forward. We want to be sure that our PLM partner can grow with us.”
