Texbase, the developer of cloud-based compliance and testing software for the apparel and textile industries, has launched a winter 2019 update and revealed an extension of its Material Connect Platform.
Component Connect allows trim and component teams to eliminate trading emails, templates and PDFs with suppliers in order to collect required fields of information on new and updated trims or components. It works just like Texbase Fabric Connect, which is utilised by many of Texbase’s existing clients to maximise efficiency and reduce development turn time, the firm says.

Component Connect operates with a similar user interface and workflow process as Fabric Connect, including the ability for brands to define their required fields, including custom options.
Meanwhile, vendors can submit new and update existing component records through the tool, while brands manage all submits, have the ability to print reports, approve changes and engage in discussions with trim and component suppliers.
The Texbase Winter 2019 version also includes a simplification of the user interface including the addition of informational icons to provide in-application help and support. While search functionality has been enhanced for both fabric and trim suppliers to more easily find materials they want to update in Fabric and Component Connect.
