TURKEY: Textile Exports Rise To $2.19bn In Q1
Apparel and textile companies in Turkey have reported a slight rise in export levels for the first quarter to $2.19 billon compared to $2.09bn in the year-ago period with the largest rise in the knitwear sector. Figures from the State Statistics Institute show the industry exported goods worth $766.8 million in March from $669.6m in 2001, with first quarter knitwear exports up six per cent year-on-year to $975.6m.
