Icelandic retail giant Baugur is likely to make a decision on whether to launch a formal takeover bid for UK fashion chain Arcadia Group Plc by the end of this week, industry sources claimed today.


Arcadia, owner of the Top Shop and Dorothy Perkins retail chains, is believed to be valued at more than £500 million by Baugur which has been considering a formal takeover offer for several months.
