Thousands of jobs in the Scottish cashmere industry may once again be under threat because of a long-running dispute between the European Union and the US over banana imports, an MP has warned.Cashmere was one of many European export goods threatened by the US with punitive tariffs last year in retaliation for EU refusal to end a system which gave preferential treatment to banana imports from former Caribbean colonies.
