UK: Electronic Bra Detects Breast Cancer
An electronic bra that can help detect breast cancer has been developed by boffins and could be commercially available by 2005 if human trials are a success. The undergarment has been developed by experts at Leicester's De Montfort University. It contains electrodes that send tiny electrical currents to the breast and allows doctors to scan them from many angles so they can build up a computer map of the tissue and detect any abnormalities.
