UK clothing retailer Marks and Spencer (M&S) is to appoint two new directors to join new CEO Mark Bolland’s senior team.

“We have begun a search for online and international directors,” a spokesperson for M&S told just-style.

It follows the stepping down of Ian Dyson, the company’s finance director, who to become chief executive of pub chain Punch Taverns. Dyson had taken up a number of responsibilities related to online and international at M&S, but now Bolland will adopt a more usual senior reporting strategy.

The company has “started an appropriate search” for the roles, which will support Clem Constantine, the firm’s director of international, property and store development, and Steve Rowe, director of retail and M&S Direct.

Separately, M&S has announced today (23 August) the appointment of banking executive Robert Swannell as the clothing retailer’s next chairman. Earlier in the month, M&S appointed Alan Stewart to its board as CFO. He will join the company by the end of October 2010.

Bolland, who joined M&S in May, is expected to reveal his future strategy for the company in November.
