UK: Selfridges Reveals Small Rise In Sales

Leading British department store Selfridges revealed on Thursday that sales recovered at its flagship London outlet during the Christmas period but said margins would be hit by discounting. Strong festive trade saw sales increase one per cent at its Oxford Street store in the second half to date and that sales for the six weeks of the festive sale period to January 5 were up six per cent at the same branch.
