USA: Levi To Axe Up To 650 Jobs, Sees Q3 Profit Surge
Clothing giant Levi Strauss & Co on Wednesday announced plans to axe up to 650 jobs in the US and Europe as it revealed it expects a 75 to 104 per cent jump in third quarter net profit from the year-ago period. The California-based company, whose brands include Levi and Dockers, said in a press release it will axe 350 salaried positions in the US business this year and expects to cut another 300 jobs at its European base in Brussels as it streamlines operations.
