USA: Liz Claiborne To Axe “Several Hundred” Jobs

Clothing designer and retailer Liz Claiborne Inc confirmed on Wednesday it will axe "several hundred" jobs across its business but declined to say exactly how many people will lose their jobs. The New York-based company, which employs more than 7,000 people worldwide, said it will take a pre-tax charge of up to $7 million as a result but added that sum was included in the $15-17m pre-tax fourth-quarter charge announced on Monday.
