USA: Muhammad Ali Sues Active Apparel For $1m In Damages
Muhammad Ali has sued a New York-based clothing company, claiming it used his name and signature to market sports clothing without his consent.In the lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, Ali claims he has not endorsed a clothing line with Active Apparel Group. The former boxer has a licensing deal with Michigan-based company, G.O.A.T, which is a co-plaintiff in the case.The lawsuit is asking for more than $1m in damages.Ali claims the company used his name to sell activewear and athletic clothing without authorisation. He is asking for all gross profits made by the sale of the unauthorised merchandise, an accounting of the company and punitive damages.
