USA: Strike At New Era Cap Finally Ends
An 11-month strike at headwear producer New Era Cap Company finally ended on Thursday after workers ratified a four-year contract - just days after rejecting a similar deal put forward by the union chiefs and the New York-based company. In a statement, New Era said the contract establishes clear and specific guidelines to be followed by both management and union on a broad range of issues, including health and safety, wages, productivity, and absenteeism. The contract covers 330 employees in its Derby facility.
