VIETNAM: Garment Exporters Struggle To Hit Multi-Billion Dollar Target
Vietnam's textile and garment industry is struggling to hit its $2.2 billion export turnover target following a massive slump in international demand triggered by the global economic slowdown. Industry chiefs say the country is unlikely to reach that target and that by the start of this month, the sector had reached an export turnover of $1.7bn - an 8.6 per cent increase compared to the same period last year - but less than what they had hoped.
