Thai outdoor and sports apparel manufacturer VT Garment has adopted Centric Software’s Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software in a bid to speed up the time-to-market of its products.

Supplier to brands including Patagonia, Jack Wolfskin and adidas, VT Garment says it began looking for a PLM product in response to “increasing pressure to speed time-to-market without compromising on quality”.

“We had long lead times during our development processes, which was a major challenge,” explains Mingkwan Lotharukpong, product development division manager, VT Garment. “There was too much emphasis on process, rather than products. We wanted a PLM solution to achieve one single source of truth across our operations, remove data duplication, reduce the time spent organising data to free up resources for action and gain visibility into timelines and activities across the whole organization.”

Centric 8 PLM, he explains, was selected as its developers and consultants “understand the apparel business”.

“We expect to fluidify communication between departments and make users’ lives easier,” says Lotharukpong. “Implementing Centric PLM will shorten lead times, align internal processes and help us to clearly communicate expectations so we can focus more on product.”

The move sees VT Garment become Centric’s first partner in Thailand.
