South African retail chain Woolworths has selected a new product lifecycle management (PLM) solution for its fashion, beauty and home business.

Woolworths South Africa, part of the Woolworths Holdings Group, operates in South Africa and 11 sub-Saharan African countries. The company employs over 31,000 people in South Africa and its vision is to be a leading fashion retailer in the southern hemisphere.

The retailer’s requirements for an intuitive PLM system have grown in line with its business expansion. A combination of increased product offerings, more diverse sourcing regions and the addition of new trading regions have all created additional complexity in the management of these new channels.

Woolworths chose to implement Centric Software’s PLM solution, which fits the company’s current and future business trading model as well as simultaneously providing opportunities to simplify and streamline ways of working.

Having a single version of the truth across all different departments will allow for easier management of collections, a reduction in time to market and improved visibility.
