Caracol Knits launches digital platform to boost Central America nearshoring

Textile manufacturer Caracol Knits has launched a digital platform and sourcing partnership programme to help US brands consolidate supply chains from Asia to Central America, offering single-source solutions from yarn to finished garments.

The initiative, available on the Caracol Knits website, offers direct access to the company’s vertically integrated capabilities, compliance credentials and facility engagement pathways, including virtual tours and sample programmes.

With more than 25 years of building full vertical integration across ring-spun yarn, knit fabrics, and garment production, the Honduras-based manufacturer simplifies the coordination challenges brands face when managing separate vendors.

Located 60 miles from Puerto Cortés, Caracol can deliver to US East Coast markets in four days, compared to 40–60 days from Asia, with 0% import duty under CAFTA-DR.

“Trade policy shifts and supply chain resilience requirements are creating a pivotal moment for brands re-evaluating their sourcing strategies,” explained Daniel Facussé, president at Caracol Knits. “Our vertical integration means companies gain both proximity and capability without trading one for the other.”

Caracol Knits added that its production spans the full textile supply chain under single ownership. Yarn production includes carded (Ne 14–36), combed (Ne 14–40), and compact combed yarns in cotton, recycled fibre, polyester-rich, viscose and tri-blend options, made using US cotton with traceability via the US Cotton Trust Protocol.

Circular knitting produces performance fabrics in tubular and open-width formats, with rotary printing up to 12 colors and finishes such as UV protection (UPF 15–50+), moisture wicking, antimicrobial and water repellent options.

Full-package garment production covers product development through direct-to-distribution-centre shipping for activewear, athleisure, undergarments, sleepwear, winterwear, and workwear. On-site Bureau Veritas and Natific-certified laboratories provide AATCC testing and certified colour management.
