China’s fashion brands announce debut in Paris

Some of China's leading fashion brands and labels will showcase their designs at the Fashion China pavilion as part of Who's Next from 2 to 4 September.

Twenty of China's fashion brands will debut their collection of womenswear, menswear, sportswear and hats at the Chinese International Fashion Fair (CHIC) for the first time in Paris.

The China International Fashion Fair (CHIC) is organised by the China National Garment Association in cooperation with China World Trade Center Co Ltd and aims to open the doors to new markets.

In fact, CHIC highlights that Fashion China is planned as a prelude to further international events and will provide a platform for Chinese fashion brands in the future.

CHIC says: "As a very large and influential fashion expo in Asia, CHIC has always been a quality comprehensive resource platform which has integrated various functions such as trade negotiation, channel development, resource integration, international cooperation, market inspection, trend release, cross-industry cooperation, capital connection. Since its establishment in 1993, CHIC has been constantly innovating based on the changes in the fashion industry and the market, growing together with Chinese fashion brands, and has been recognised as the promoter and witness of the development of Chinese fashion brands and the market."

The showcase will see winners of numerous fashion awards and labels who have also presented at international fashion weeks join. This includes womenswear brands Ellassay, Laurèl (founded in Munich, Germany); women and men's labels JNBY, Luo Zheng, Raxxy; hat brand KeyOne; Thread & Story, May D. Wang for cashmere and silk, among others.

CHIC points out that internationally, many of the brands already sell through online shops or in parallel with agencies from other countries.

Moreover, around 500 exhibitors from Europe and Asia are expected to attend the next CHIC event in Shanghai next month (28-30 August).
