This development is part of Crystal International's broader strategy to integrate cutting-edge technology across its operations.

The new facility is being built by the company’s knits division in its lifestyle wear factory in China. It will include an automated cutting workshop and a centralised smart warehouse fitted with an advanced storage and retrieval system (AS/RS). These innovations aim to enhance efficiency in inventory management and delivery processes by analysing real-time data related to production demand and transport routes.

The new logistics centre, which is powered by the rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) system, is scheduled to begin full operations in the first quarter of 2026. It is anticipated to reduce fabric transfer times by up to 75%. The AS/RS will manage the autonomous flow of both fabric materials and finished goods, from storage to the point of loading. Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) will further streamline processes by handling the movement of sewn parts, contributing to a fully closed-looped auto-material flow system within the centre.

Crystal International digital manufacturing general manager Sam Lau said: “We are driving digitalisation and automation in line with the whole Group’s ambition, achieving smarter processes, higher operational efficiency and productivity, as well as better sustainability performance. The solution ensures us winning edge and continued success.”

This initiative aligns with Crystal International's Crystal Sustainability Vision 2030, which focuses on converting all its facilities into smart factories through innovative technology. The establishment of this centre represents a significant advancement in the group's ongoing journey towards smarter manufacturing practices.

Founded in 1970, Crystal International operates over 20 production sites across five countries, including Vietnam, China, Cambodia, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. The company produces a wide array of apparel products, such as lifestyle wear, sportswear, denim, intimate wear, sweaters, and knitted fabrics. Through its "Co-creation" business model, Crystal International collaborates with leading global brands to provide high-quality and innovative manufacturing solutions.

In October 2025, Crystal International joined Textile Exchange as a partner member. Textile Exchange is a global non-profit organisation focused on promoting sustainability in the fashion, textile, and apparel industries. This partnership is expected to support Crystal International in increasing its use of eco-friendly options, thereby reducing its environmental footprint.
