Fashion for Good is involved in shaping and supporting the structure of Spinnova's consortium.
The partnership brings together a range of stakeholders, including brands, retailers, suppliers, innovators and funders, with the intention of increasing the availability of Spinnova fibre and driving collaboration throughout the sector.
Fashion for Good is said to promote innovative solutions by encouraging collaboration across the fashion industry. It links disruptive innovations with brands and acts as a centre for intelligence and experimentation to surface the latest insights.
By uniting brands, retailers, suppliers, innovators, and funders in one network, the circular fashion initiative enables joint action and helps accelerate industry change.
Fashion for Good managing director Katrin Ley said: “The consortium model Spinnova is building represents exactly the kind of coordinated ecosystem approach that next-generation materials need to scale. This isn't just about proving technology works, but about building the infrastructure and capability across the value chain that makes adoption viable. Spinnova fibre is derived from wood pulp or waste streams such as leather, textiles or agricultural residues, without the need for harmful dissolving chemicals.
It is compatible with conventional textile manufacturing processes and can be blended with other fibres to create yarns and fabrics.
The material is used in products ranging from clothing to insulation and composites, with Spinnova having already launched items such as T-shirts, trousers, jackets and skis in collaboration with global brands.
