The Egypt investment is made by a subsidiary of Interloop’s associate company.

The “multi-origin, tech-enabled” readymade garments plant, covering 60,000m2, will be situated in the Al-Qantara West Industrial Zone within the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE).

According to Interloop, the manufacturing facility will generate over 1,000 direct jobs.

The location of the plant provides the company, via its associate company, streamlined access to crucial markets in the US, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

This enhances the Interloop’s capacity to deliver products to its international clientele with reduced lead times and competitive pricing.

Besides, Egypt's trade accords with the US, the EU, and regional alliances is also expected to bolster nearshoring opportunities and enable Interloop to adopt more diversified sourcing strategies for its partners, stated Interloop.

The agreement for the new facility was signed by SCZONE chairman Walid Gamal El-Din and Interloop representative Syed Fasihuddin Biyabani at the SCZONE headquarters in Egypt’s new administrative capital.

The SCZONE is an industrial and logistics hub that lies along one of the “busiest” trade routes globally.

Interloop CEO Navid Fazil said: “This Egypt investment is a strategic next step in building a multi-origin, tech-enabled hub for our customers. SCZONE gives us near-market access to US and Europe, competitive operating economics, and an ecosystem that strengthens supply chain resilience. We will embed the same transparent, sustainable manufacturing playbook that defines our operations globally.”

With this latest project in Egypt, Interloop continues to enhance its international presence with manufacturing networks already established in Pakistan, China, Sri Lanka, and sales offices across North America, Europe, and Japan.

Earlier this year, Interloop received the EU Organic Standards Certification for its Organic Kapas project. This initiative covers 5,090 acres and has yielded 7,000 bales of organic cotton.
