Kasperkovitz, who currently serves as chief operations officer and Management Board member, will hold both roles at the company through May 2029.

He joined the Lenzing Management Board in June 2025 and has since managed the Fibre Division’s sales, production, and supply chain operations.

The company states Kasperkovitz has also led the ongoing development and execution of its performance programme, resulting in improvements in operational standards and profitability at the fibre production sites.

In his new role as chief executive, Kasperkovitz will continue to oversee fibre production sites and will take on additional global responsibility for fibre sales, supply chain, and human resources.

Holding a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Vienna University of Technology and an MBA from Harvard Business School, Kasperkovitz has more than 15 years of international management experience spanning Europe, North America, Asia, and China.

Before joining Lenzing, he was Business Unit CEO at Mondi from 2016 to 2019, CEO of Rail Cargo Austria from 2012 to 2016, and previously worked as a partner at McKinsey & Company.

On his appointment, Kasperkovitz said: “I would like to thank the Supervisory Board for their trust and for appointing me as CEO, and I am very much looking forward to actively shaping Lenzing’s future.

“We will drive sustainable growth in high-margin market segments, such as nonwovens applications in hygiene and filtration, while further advancing next-generation technologies such as Tree-to-Textile. At the same time, we will consistently implement measures to further strengthen our cost position and global competitiveness. Our goal is to unlock the company’s full value-creation potential.”

Lenzing confirmed that its Management Board’s composition will remain unchanged following the appointment, comprising Kasperkovitz as CEO, Mathias Breuer as CFO, and Christian Skilich as CPO/CTO. The Extended Executive Committee of six members also stays the same.

Patrick Lackenbucher, chairman of the Supervisory Board of Lenzing AG, commented: “Management Board will continue to consistently focus on structural profitability and strengthening competitiveness, with the aim of further expanding Lenzing’s position as a leading integrated premium supplier of regenerated cellulose fibres.”

Earlier this year, Lenzing Group acquired a controlling majority in Swedish company TreeToTextile by issuing new shares.
