M&S names former Asos exec Weatherley as fashion transformation boss

Marks & Spencer has appointed former Asos executive, Jag Weatherley, as its new transformation director for fashion, home and beauty.

Weatherley will join the business in January, and she brings strong experience in retail transformation, having held senior leadership roles at Asos, where she was most recently managing director for Europe and Rest of World.

M&S says the “strategic hire” reflects its commitment to accelerating the pace of its transformation.

It follows the appointment of Jon Rolls as commercial and operations director, which M&S announced last week.

John Lyttle, managing director of Fashion, Home & Beauty, commented:
“Jag’s appointment marks an important next step in completing our Fashion, Home & Beauty leadership team and upping the pace of our transformation. Jag brings a brilliant set of expertise as we continue to build momentum and reshape M&S for growth.”

At the end of last month, M&S unveiled its first clothing resale venture by teaming up with e-commerce marketplace eBay, with aims to prolong the wearability of M&S products while addressing textile waste by rehoming quality used items.

And it announced a one-year quality guarantee on all its children's clothing, excluding footwear and accessories. The guarantee is part of M&S’s Another Life initiative, which is aligned with the company’s Plan A sustainability strategy. It emphasises circularity through Rewear, Repair, Recycle, and Resale. The Rewear component aims to assure customers of product durability.
