The partnership will combine Recover's recycled cotton fibre with Ünteks' capabilities in knitting, dyeing, printing and garment production.
Ünteks and Recover hope the resulting circular knit products will be used in high-volume, everyday garments such as jersey, fleece, interlock, terry, rib and pique.
All of the fabrics produced through the partnership will include a minimum of 20% Recover recycled cotton, offering performance as well as reduced environmental impact.
Ünteks Group’s integrated production model supports large-scale manufacturing, with the company citing a monthly capacity of up to 1,500 tons of fabric and one million garments.
“One of the key strengths of Ünteks is their ability to take circular knit fabrics through to finished garments with a high level of consistency," explained Recover's chief commercial officer Matthew Neville.
“That makes them a strong partner for our collection, where the focus is on translating recycled cotton into everyday products that brands can rely on at scale.”
The companies hope their partnership will help expand the role of recycled cotton in the circular knitwear sector, making sustainable fibres accessible for more high-volume, everyday textile products.
Ünteks Group's CEO Hakan Kılıç added: “In circular knits, small variations can impact how a fabric behaves in production. A big part of our work with Recover has been adjusting and refining each step so the material runs consistently, from knitting through to the finished garment.”
